Sweden

Considered the most cash-free country in the world, even some of Sweden's banks have stopped handling cash, while it's not uncommon for some tourist attractions, including restaurants and museums to accept only credit and bank card or mobile payments. To pay for your shopping and other expenses or withdraw cash from an ATM, you'll need to ensure your credit card is an updated chip version card with a chip and active PIN -- the older magnetic strip cards no longer function there. And while cash is still accessible with ATMs throughout cities and towns, your own bank and the issuing bank will hit you with the compulsory service fees, so it's always advisable to talk to or visit a money exchange office like ChangeGroup before your trip.

TIP: While many establishments are using physical cash less and less, it’s still rare that your cash would be denied.
